When your computer needs replacing what do you do with the old one? Maybe its only 3 or 4 years old?

In some cases you might be able sell it, well done but will you be expected to provide support?

What about confidential information stored on the hard disc (even though you are convinced its deleted)? If the information includes data on individuals, where do you stand with regard to the Data Protection Act? What would happen if someone got hold of your banking or person details?

Hanging on to it is not the answer either. Casual storage of old computers, monitors and related equipment can create potential hazards. Apart from that they take up valuable space, what a hassle when you come to move or need the spare room in a hurry.

The EU has decided that electrical and electronic waste poses such a potential danger that they have issued directives aimed at reducing the amount of toxic materials used in manufacture and controlling the way in which the waste is eventually disposed of.

The answer is to recycle your old computer. Mirax will recycle your old computer Free of Charge. We will securely wipe all information from the hard drive and will undertake to use any parts that we can to repair, replace or rebuild computers. Any remaining components that cannot be repaired or reused will be disposed of at a government approved waste recycling centre.
